We’ve been busy adding new primary sources and features to DocsTeach, the online tool for teaching with documents from the National Archives. Here are some recent highlights:
The Transcontinental Railroad
These primary sources include famous photographs, acts of Congress, and several maps from the 1860s.
Revolutionary War “Inspection Rolls”
The British evacuated over 2,500 enslaved African Americans, indentured servants, and freedpeople at the end of the Revolutionary War, as recorded in these documents.

Youth Art Competition
The National Archives Foundation is holding a competition for students in grades 4-6 as part of our commemoration of the 19th Amendment and Rightfully Hers: American Women and the Vote exhibition.
Students should submit an original piece of artwork that answers the question: What does the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote mean to you and your community?
